It's finally Fall! Yay!
The scent of apple cinnamon candles and pumpkin coffee, that brisk cool air, color changing leaves falling aimlessly from the heights just so you can crunch them when they hit the ground. This is my happy place. It is the time for messy bun hats, fingerless gloves, light scarves and cooler crochet weather. Most importantly, it's almost time for Halloween!
This year, I've been directing more of my creative juices on the designing aspect of crochet. So far, amigurumi and coffee cozies have really inspired me. (You should check out the Witch Corset Coffee cozies in my Etsy shop!) They're fun, quick and easy to make. With it also being craft fair season, I figured I would try my hand at making a little Amigurumi Ghost. What person wouldn't just love to have a cute little amigurumi ghost to cuddle up with this Fall? So I got to work sketching the ghost I was hoping to design, ordering the yarn and writing up the pattern.
The first little ghost was worked from the bottom up and then you add the fluffy skirt afterwards. It's cute and looks almost like my drawing but doesn't quite sit right. I think I'm going to hang him up with the larger one I made years ago.
The second little ghost was worked top to bottom in the hopes that I could get it to look more like the primitive picture sketched in my notebook. Much better results the second time around...except that I forgot to add the safety eyes. Oh, well. I guess I'll have to use the Anime Eyes from KnotBadAmi again. (tee-hee)
These ghost toys were fun to make despite my perfectionist rearing it's head. I hope you like them because I am adding the patterns to both here on the blog for free! They take no time at all since they're made from bulky yarn and a J-6.0 mm hook. Use the eyes you want and make the smiles as big or small as you like. Just promise to have fun with it, okay?
Alright, here's the link to these Free Crochet Patterns so you get right to hookin' it up! lol
Until next time, Always be the best YOU that you can be!
Love and hugs to all!
